Is Pepito's Worth the Drive from Scenic Gulf Drive?

We drove ten minutes east and split an order of beef nachos for dinner. Here's the practical read on Pepito's for anyone staying at Majestic Sun: where it is, whether the nachos split, and how loud the room gets.
Some nights you don't want to cook, you don't want to change clothes, and you don't want to think very hard about dinner. That was us back in July. My wife and I got in the car, drove about ten minutes east, and had beef nachos. Both of us. That was the whole meal, and we enjoyed the heck out of it.
So here's the practical version, for anyone staying at Majestic Sun who is wondering whether it's worth the drive.
Where is Pepito's, and how far is it from Scenic Gulf Drive?
Pepito's sits at 36112 Emerald Coast Parkway, the location Google lists as Destin East. From the condo you're looking at roughly 3 miles, call it ten minutes on 98 depending on how summer traffic is behaving that evening. You won't miss it. There's a tall neon sign out front that reads Pepito's Mexican Grill & Cantina, which is the older name and still the one glowing over the parking lot.
One thing worth flagging, because I went looking myself: a few sites list a Pepito's on Scenic Gulf Drive, which would put it walking distance from Seascape. I couldn't find any sign that location is actually operating. Point yourself at Emerald Coast Parkway.
Are the beef nachos big enough to split for dinner?
Yes. We ordered the beef nachos and shared them, and that was dinner for two grown adults. No appetizer before, no entree after. We happen to love nachos, so this wasn't us settling for something, it was the plan walking in the door. They were very good.
I didn't write down what we paid, so I'm not going to guess at it. Google puts the place in the $20 to $30 a person range, and our night landed under that because we split one plate. For a low-key evening out, it was reasonable.
Was there a wait?
Next to nothing. Fair warning on that one: we went late. A late dinner is going to give you a rosier answer than 6:30 on a Saturday in July would. If you're heading over at prime time in peak season, plan the way you would anywhere else on this stretch.
How loud is it inside?
We were seated in a booth, and the booth was comfortable. I never noticed the noise, which for me is the whole tell. When a room is loud I know it, because I stop being able to hear the person across the table from me. That didn't happen. I sat there comfortable the entire meal.
Would I send a guest there?
If they like Mexican food and a relaxed atmosphere, yes. That's the honest shape of it. This isn't a special-occasion room and it isn't pretending to be one. It's a good, easy dinner ten minutes from the sand, and for an evening out that doesn't cost much, it holds up.
One thing I can't tell you is how it works with kids, because we didn't have any with us and I'd only be making it up. (If you want a bigger sample than my one night, Google has it sitting at 4.3 stars across more than 3,000 reviews.)
We'd go back. Next time we might even order two things.
