The high, wide one. An elevated view straight down the shoreline that shows the water colour, the sandbar and how far the umbrellas run — the best single read on whether it is a beach day.

Beach level at the Whale’s Tail Beach Bar, a couple of hundred yards west. Dune fence, picnic tables and the busiest umbrella field on this stretch. Watch this one to judge the crowd.
Beachhouse Bar
Half a mile east, looking out over a beach walkover. Good for reading the surf right at the water line and how hard the wind is pushing.
Leeward Key
The far end, 1.7 miles west at the Destin city line. A long view back down the coast that shows weather arriving before it reaches the rest of the beach.
The Grove
The Seascape lagoon pool. Not a beach view — this is the one for judging how busy the resort itself is on a hot afternoon.
